Denmead Day Care is an approved provider of free early years education in the Standard Offer, Stretched Offer and 2 year old Offer.

We have recently been awarded “Good” by Ofsted and all staff have been checked using DBS. We are based in Denmead village but provide childcare to children from outside this area, including Waterlooville, Southwick, Portchester and Fareham.

Staff are expected to have a good understanding of and relationship with their key children. All our core staff are qualified to level 3 in child care or working towards it. We encourage all our team to update and develop their qualifications.

We provide flexible provision which accommodates the unpredictability of working life. We offer year round or term time only contracts to suit your schedules. We are open from 7:30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year. We close for a week over Christmas and on Bank Holidays.

PLEASE NOTE that the Baby Room closes at 4pm on Fridays.

Before your child starts with us full time, we will invite them in for a minimum of three settling in sessions. These are free of charge and give our children and their families the chance to ease in at a pace that suits them, get to know their keyworkers on a personal level immediately, and make that initial separation easier. We know how daunting leaving your child can be, especially if it is the first time doing so, and we will support your family every step of the way.

The cost of living is on the rise, and good quality childcare can be expensive, so we endeavour to keep our costs as low as possible. We follow an open-door policy and work with our parents to ensure that their commitment is sustainable and that they always feel supported. Each setting accepts a variety of childcare vouchers.

We accept all new Government funding from April 2024. Please see the GOV.uk website for more details.

The government have provided us with a website which will help parents when applying.

If your child is eligible for 30 hours funding, we will be happy to discuss providing this for you.

Although it is commonly called 30 hours funding, that funding is for 38 weeks of the year (term time only), if you go for the stretched offer it will be about 22 hours per week.

Please be aware, your childcare tax credits may be affected if you qualify for the 30 hours funding.
